I am old enough and since childhood I have taken care of my brothers and sisters.
We are eight of us and I am the eldest. I have also trained as a teacher for primary and secondary. I have a certificate a diploma and a degree in education.
During my training I did counselling and first-aid among others.
I have confidence doing games puzzles and singing with children. I also tell African stories for children.
I also discipline and teach them good behavior. I expose them to the realities of life. To be helpful, patient and realistic but also courageous and assertive.
I prepare them for teenage life and for adulthood. I teach them cleanliness, self-care and arranging their things. I also teach values like honesty, love and hard work.
What ever the parents need then to learn, is of much value to me.
