Hello Families!
My name is Maria and I am a graduate of the Child and Youth worker program. I graduated in April 2011. I have had many experiences working with children in elementary schools, The Boys and Girls Club, and a woman's abuse shelter. There, I worked with children that have witnessed domestic violence. The past 4 years, I have been working for a childcare organization with before and after school programming. I have planned activities with the children, prepared snacks, and participated in excursions on Professional Development days. I have also had experience, previously, 1 to 1 with a very high needs child, who is diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and a mild case of Autism. I have had many experiences working with children and I truly do enjoy it. I believe that children are our future and they deserve to have the best experiences and good lessons that will shape them to be the best they can be. I am looking for a full-time permanent position. I am a very friendly, loving, kind, smart, reliable, responsible, initiative taking type of person. I take my job working with children very seriously. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have studied the 3 year Child and Youth worker at Fanshawe College as well as the 1 year Human services foundations certificate at Fanshawe College.
