Katy, garde périscolaire à Lakenham NR1

Hi, I'm Katy :) I have a passion for childcare and education, and hope to be a primary school teacher in the future. I am currently studying in my final year for my Psychology degree. I have lots of experience with children, which I will list below:

- Went to Ghana to volunteer in an orphanage and school, where caring for children was a key role. (July 2016).

- 5 years of babysitting experience

- 6 months spent volunteering in a nursery (all ages but spent most time with 2-3 year olds)

- 2 week classroom assistant placement (4-5 year olds)

- 1 week classroom assistant placement (7-11 year olds)

- Peer mentor qualification - through mentoring disadvantaged children (Year 7s)

- Assistant in Year 7 German lessons (2013).

- 'Reading buddy' to children who were below target level in their reading skills at school - read with them once a week to improve their reading.

Since the above was all voluntary, I have also held down a few 'proper' jobs - Care Assistant (2015) and Sales Assistant (2012-2014). I also worked with a Clinical Psychologist on a research project (Summer, 2015).

Overall, I simply love spending time with children, be it playing or educating, and hope that this will be evident if you meet me. I am reliable, always on time, responsible and mature. I have people who would be more than happy to provide references for you.
