Hello! I'm María, i'm from Valencia (España)
My experience as a professional in the social and labour integration for intelectual disability people began when i was 13 years old. I start very hopeful my tasks as a volunteer in a campsite for kids at a foundation from my city ( Espurna Foundation). i have never thought that experience would be such a gratifying to me and i could imagine that It would be the begining of my professional life. i was so lucky to find my way being so young.
I keep being a volunteer during my school holidays until i was 17 years old, time when i start working at a Special Center of Employment, where i had to supervise the work of group of disabled people in a factory. Years passed and i decided to improve my training. I decided to study Social Integration and during last year of my studies i was working in another center for disabled people in other city ( Albacete ). During my job i made and initiated two adapted projects and a memory as a final project. In this final project i could embody all my experiences of my 750 hours with that "special team of work". Also i participated in others projects from the Center, like a theater plays, reading, writting, computer tasks, dancing...
After that, in 2011, i recieved my degree i began to looking for a job. Before i was working as a shopping assistent but i preferred to focus my efforts in the best i knew to do. The economic situation of my country and the little means of the government for social tasks made my espectations gone. After that time, trying to find a job as a social assistent and working in other kind of jobs, i decided to take my backpack and leave my city, my friends, my family, my lovely cat who i miss every days.
