Hi!
My name's Katie. I have been teaching English as a second language for the past 3 years, focusing on working with young learners. I've been lucky enough to work in China, Russia and Italy, as well as summer schools in the south coast of England. I chose to specialise in teaching children as I find their motivation and enthusiasm infectious! I believe that teaching children in a relaxed, playful, creative environment is essential to their development. After taking some training in Special Educational Needs and working in educational settings, I am excited to begin my journey to Montessori teaching in the future, which takes a much more holistic approach to childhood learning. I have a degree in English Literature and creative writing, and I love to use storytelling as a way to teach and communicate with children. Given my background with music, theatre and art, I would love to foster and encourage this interest in the children in work with.

I am a fully qualified ESL teacher with extensive experience working with children. The wage suggested would cover public transport travel costs to and from work, as well as potentially affording the opportunity to make a living wage. I am willing to work at this reduced wage for the love of the job while I am in- between jobs/and to continue working while visiting the UK. Most of my work is overseas and I usually charge £15+ for an hour of tuition.
