Laura, au pair - L24 Speke

Hi,

My name is Laura and I am 24 years old and I was born and raised in the Liverpool area. I love working with children and young adults I come from a large family so I have plenty of nieces, nephews and young cousins who I love to spend time with.

Family is something that I cherish and love being a part off and I appreciate that trusting someone with you child or children is an extremely trusting thing to have to do. I am a loving, caring, sincere and fun individual who will only have your families best interest in mind and I will be one hundred percent committed to delivering the best care and guidance your child needs.

I graduated from University in the summer of 2013 with a degree in Health and Sports Studies. I love sports and being outdoors whether that is playing games with my nieces and nephews, bike riding or going the park with them. I also love to learn about new things and places and this is something that both myself and my nieces and nephews love to explore.

I have had a large amount of experience in many different settings from the age of 16 I have coached many different sports to a range of different age groups and abilities. I have experience of working with children and young adults with special needs and disabilities.

In the summer of 2012 I took part in the Camp America programme where I was a camp counsellor in an all girls sleep away camp. During the day I coached tennis and of an late afternoon and evening I was responsible for the care and provision of a group of children within my bunk.

More recently in 2014 I volunteered one day a week at a local primary school as a teaching assistant where I provided additional support for pupils and the classroom teacher. During this time I assisted in helping small groups or individuals in completing their work, listen to children read and offer positive feedback and goals for improvement, whilst also ensuring that instructions were being followed and understood to aid learning and development.

Alongside this I regularly take care of my nieces, nephews and cousins who I love spending time with and they range between 5months old to 6 years old. I also help out my auntie on a regular basis as she is a nanny for 2 young boys and when needed I provide extra assistance for her.
