Alicia, au pair - RH11 Crawley

My name is Alicia I am 17 years old turning 18 in August, I have always had love for children since I was small. I was obsessed with dolls feeding, dressing and just caring for them like they where real, I even persuaded my mum to buy me a real baby pram for my dolls. My dream is to become a nanny to a family and put all my care and love into looking after the whole family, I feel like I am a loving, caring person and I have a great sense of humour, I will always try to include fun in education as much as I can and I will always look for new ways to have fun and games to play. I currently work in Gatwick Airport where I have met so many amazing people and have learnt great people and communications skills but it’s not my dream or what I want to do. I am also finishing my last year of sixth form this May where I have completed my level 1, 2 and 3 health and social care. On the side I’m completing a professional nanny course where I get a certificate at the end and within that I’m educated on illnesses of children, first aid and much more. For the past year now I have been looking after a four year old girl where I have had the responsibility of picking her up from the childminders and keeping her at my house whilst her mother is at work. I have also had the responsibility of having the child stay the night at my house which was a great experience because it showed me what life like as a nanny could be and I loved it. Caring for children and being another person that they can talk to and trust is just such a great feeling and such a dream for me. I enjoy cooking foods whether that’s mains or desserts, I have always cooked cakes with my Nan and auntie since I was small and I’d love to share my families twists on well known dishes. I also enjoy cleaning and anything I can help with I will put my all into making things as easy as possible for the family. I will always make my decisions based on the children and their welfare physically and mentally, I will always put their needs before mine and anyone else’s and never put them in any situation I’m not sure about.
