I have 2 children of my own, 23 and 25; both are at the end of their studying career and at the start of their careers.
I have 2 step children and 2 grandchildren.
My career was in teaching over 30 years across the Curriculum areas, specialising in Mathematics, English and SEN. I taught across the age and ability range.
Retired, I now tutor all ages and abilities, with a particular interest in Dyslexia and literacy. In addition, I attempt alterations, repairs and creative sewing, making things 'especially for you' (My Ad.says) finding relaxation and satisfaction as a bonus.
I am a keen baker and cook (striving for GBB !) improving my recipes continually as I have recently become Wheat intolerant. I am always seeking alternative ways to make dishes which helps keep everyone in the family happy.
I am flexible, reflective and compassionate in my work as well as always sensitive to the needs of others. A smile, a sense of humour, a 'thank you' and a 'Sorry' ..... play an important role in achieving the best out of those whom I work closely with to achieve optimum progress and positive outcomes so I always strive to achieve in this way.

I do not see myself as just a child minder as my experience in teaching for 30 years and bringing up a family of my own gives me the confidence to use
my time wisely in any area that is required by yourselves, ....be it cooking, reading, singing, playing an instrument, investigating, spelling, PC learning, phonics, number, creative work, puzzles, jigsaws and so on. I usually discuss this before taking on a new client and an extremely flexible and helpful.
I aim to keep an ongoing scrapbook diary of all we do as evidence and a visual memoir for the future.
