Maryam, baby-sitting - ME15 Tovil

My name is Maryam and I am 19 years old.

I have recently completed a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care achieving Distinction, Distinction, and Distinction. I have a thorough understanding of how to care for vulnerable people of all ages and have experience of working with primary aged children and adolescents and young adults through college placements. I am particularly interested in mental health and wellbeing and would like to work within this area in the future. I have developed good organisation skills through planning and teaching activities to groups of children when working in school. I am proactive in asking for support and advice from others for example the class teacher and my college tutor as needed when planning activities. I have good communication skills. Children completed tasks well as I modelled and explained how to do tasks clearly. I am caring and sensitive to the needs of others, which was particularly necessary when working with adolescents at a youth café. I was assertive and professional even when experiencing challenging behaviour from people of my own age. I am conscientious and responsible. I follow instructions well and am able to work independently. At college I completed assignments to a high standard, researching carefully and meeting deadlines. I have good computer skills and can use programmes such as Microsoft Work, Publisher and PowerPoint.
