Theresa, baby-sitter à Edmonton (central beverly)

I am looking for part-time (15-20 hr/wk daytime hrs) babysitting preferably a child of any age except 3, I just can't seem to keep up with a 3 year old. I am 63 yoa, retired from university as admin support in 2010. Studied and taught non-competitive sports and games to grade school children (some time ago), as a student of BA Recreation Admin. That study included some child development study.
Regardless of that education, I took it because I was interested, not because I wanted to be interested. I love teaching and love watching a child and really anyone learn, with particular enjoyment in their delight once they know 'they did it'. On my own initiative, I have read and enjoyed the practises and philosophies of Maria Montessori. I usually skate/swim once a week with my grandchildren and if you are amendable to that, I'd be pleased to bring your child/children. I love the energy of latin dance music and love dancing with children. We (my grandchildren and I) do some children's yoga and tell stories in a circle. If someone chooses to tell a scary story, the next person must change the story to have a happy ending. We also do children's puzzles and practise our abc's. I have a strong philosophy of teaching children while they are very young and teaching them consistently. The epl has great computers for kids to practise on, my family and I go there if skating/swimming is not possible for us on Thursdays. I have reliable transportation and would be willing to pick your children up from their 'away from home' activities. I am pretty flexible and appreciate a feeling of purpose. Thus, I am particularly interested in working for parents who themselves have special needs. i.e. single father, single mom, but will consider all options.
