Anissa, babysitter à Hamilton ML3

My name is Anissa, I am 22 years old and I am from Northern Ireland but I have lived in Scotland for two years now for University.

I am currently a second year student midwife, before this I have gained experience in the caring role from volunteering and work experience in nursery's. I live with my mum who is a child minder and has been since I was born, with this in mind, I have my head screwed on when it comes to caring for all age groups, from newborn until around age 14. A few of my friends also have children and so this has allowed for extra babysitting experiences and so I have plenty of practice with numerous age groups.

Being a student midwife means I am in placement and university at separate times throughout the year. When I am in uni it is usually Monday-Friday until 3pm and I am then free on weekends as well. When I am on placement it is 3 12 hour shifts each week which are not set days and I have to work alongside my mentor for atleast 50% of the placement, which means my shifts can be reallocated to allow for me to take on a job such as babysitting.

I have completed a first aid course in my last year of secondary school and since beginning my current course I am also trained in newborn resuscitation.
