Hello, my name is Laura. I am a student in my final year at Stranmillis University College studying the BEd Primary degree. I love working with children which is why I have chosen this as a career. I am mainly looking for some evening and weekend work to earn some extra pocket money and would love to gain more experience with children while doing so. Throughout my degree I have had a wide variety of experience teaching children from ages 3-11 in a mainstream and special educational needs school setting. I therefore have a lot of experience helping children with their school work and planning creative, engaging activities for them to complete. My experience supervising and caring for children also includes being a young leader in Guides and Brownies, volunteering at a holiday Bible club each summer, volunteering in nursery schools in Africa for one month, volunteering at a Sunday School for children and young people with special educational needs and most recently, being a counsellor at a summer camp in Canada. Additionally, I have completed Grade 8 Speech and Drama and Grade 5 piano. I would be willing to work with any children from ages 3 and upwards and my aim would be to create a safe, friendly and fun environment for them.
