Leticia, babysitter - NG4 Carlton

My Name is Leticia i am 17 years old and looking for a part time job. I haven't had much work experience but in my one week of working at the Christian Centre in the administration and event managing department I learnt a lot of skills. I learnt a lot of people skills, and how to work as a team and also independently. I confidently made phone calls to customers and also learnt how to negotiate.

During my time studying at The Nottingham Emmanuel School I have been involved in quite a few teams such as Yr8 Buddy, Yr10 Assistant tutor and Red House student action team. Being in these teams I learned a lot of leadership skills and better communication skills especially with people who are younger than me. I went on a residential with the Year 7’s (aged 11) as a young leader and with the Student action team I helped organize shows and events for the school and also hosted a talent show.

I have worked with children on different occasions throughout my life going on different trips working as a leader and looking after the children. (Aged between 5-13). I have many young children in my family that I babysit so have gained experience from that, I have always been good with children, as I would say I’m a confident and friendly person for the children to interact with. I have an 12 year old niece and another 2 year old niece that i have helped with as they have grown up since they were born.

I have been dancing and studying performing arts for 14 years. For the past 4 years I have been part of Theatre Train where I do musical theatre. I have performed at The Royal Albert hall, Saddlers Wells, and the O2 arena also Disney Land Paris in the Parade.
For 3 years I have been part of Destiny Dance Ministry. We have performed at Rock City and we do regular performances at Destiny. Within DDM one of my roles is being a leader and being a role model for the younger members of the group. I help do the choreography, costumes, lighting and all the different aspects of our performances.
The Dance ministry I am involved in is apart of Destiny at the Christian Centre. I am very committed to this. I attend every Friday and I am part of teams such as welcome team, set up/set down team, technical team, dance team, and also I have a main role in my small group as a young leader. Also I help mentor younger girls in Destiny, my youth ministry as I’m seen as one of the people a young person can confide in and ask for advice.
