I am a middle aged semi retired woman who was a mom, a social worker and early childhood education assistant.
I want to work with children ages 3-9 years of age.
I would like part time work.
I am active, fun, creative, a good communicator, a great listener and supporter of children's best interests. I want each child I meet or work with to know they matter and are loved for exactly who they are.
Depending on the age of the children I like board games, climbing gym safety, acrobatic tricks and safety, art, dance, skipping, jacks, story telling with all the voices, or getting them to tell pieces of the story and walking in nature, while noticing and learning about safety and our environment, whether insects, birds. plants, trees and bugs.

I have woven my knowledge and skills together so that I am easily able to collect pretty much any child's attention, interest and cooperation. I raised my three children, then I cared and helped heal the wounds of three kids with FAS, who experienced domestic violence and neglect. I had an ECE Assistant position for over two years working in child care centers. Then social work degree, additional training in attachment parenting and ten year experience working as a counsellor has enabled me to help youth, women, men, parents and couples. Now I just like to keep my life simple and have less stress by spending my time helping children. Please do not think I am over qualified but rather very capable.
Parents gain extra assurance that the children are well taken care of in every aspect, emotionally, physically, intellectually and socially. I do this by providing various activities for intellectual growth, physical strength and for gaining social skills in natural settings. My goals are to help them safely explore the world, be creative and to learn the life skills important to their safety and relationships, such as empathy and using their words instead of actions.
All of my time spent is child focused, caring for the children with warmth, lots of laughs and celebration of achievements were ever possible to keep us on a positive path, rather than slide into negative behaviours for attention. My special interest is in helping children to be curious about nature, it's many herbs and food plants, insects and being creative whether dancing, singing, playing an instrument or making up games.
I am on a disability income, so I do not need a high wage and just enough to nicely supplement my income. I do not find this work stressful but rather joyful, as I get to observe so many important learnings and discoveries, even if there is some resistance to necessary guidance.
