My name is Joanna and I am married with two daughters aged 14 and 17. I enjoy walking, cooking, keep fit, gardening and most of all spending time with my family enjoying quality time together.
I am ideally looking at providing child care Monday to Friday, ideally during the day, but will consider hours outside this. I will also be happy to consider weekend hours .
I have over 10 years experience working with children from 4 years to 11 years within a school setting. I am a qualified teaching assistant NVQ level 3 and also NVQ level 2 child care, covering all areas of the curriculum. My role also included working on a one to one basis with children with special needs. I have attended workshops and training for letters and sounds , phonics, toe by toe, stepping stones, and many more.
As a teaching assistant I supported children with their social and emotional development whilst also attending to their safety, health and nutrition. Working with children is a non stop adventure, there are constant laughs and lots of fun, but there is a huge responsibility in maintaining the safety and happiness of the children in your care.
At present I independently manage an after school club for ages 3 years to 11 years and provide a safe and caring environment which is child led in respect to the activities we choose to do each day. I believe it is important that children are allowed to express themselves and make their own choices as long as it is safe to do so.
Key skills to working with and caring for children require enthusiasm, imagination, energy, adaptability, patience and responsibility all of which I feel I have. I love working with children of all ages, they are our future and I feel very privileged to be able to be a part of their today.
