Hi there!
I am Morgan, it is a pleasure to meet you.
I am originally from Michigan, USA (the most beautiful state in all of USA!!), but I came to Milan in 2016 in order to shake life up a bit, and now I find myself here, 4 years later about to marry the love of my life in just a few weeks time!
I have always had a knack with working with people, and since I came to Milan and started to work specifically with children (as before I worked primarily with elderly adults), I realized that perhaps it is a gift that I should use for the greater good, no? Children are so important to the foundation of our society, and furthermore, the continuance of it. But, without someone that is willing to show a child the support, understanding, stimulation (of the brain), and love that they need, how is it possible that the raw beauty and emotion of what makes us human will exist?
I have spent these last 4 years working with various children of various ages (newborn babies - 11 years old) in settings such as the private family home and also in an asilo nido (Clorofilla here in Milan), not only taking care of them physically, but also supporting the development of their brains and their motor skills. Honestly, nothing has brought me more joy in the last 25 years of my life than working with children...I think they have taught me more about life than anything.
I can speak to them in English, as it is my first language, and I also can speak to them a bit in Italian, especially at first so they grow comfortable with me before introducing them to a new language and also a new person as I know that this can be a very difficult part of growth for a child. If for example I am working with a child below the age of 1, where their own language skills have yet to form into coherent words, I tend to speak with them solely in English, whereas, if the child is of around 2 or older and their language has already started to develop, I try to first, not scare them off as I said previously, and second, I try not to confuse them as they are still trying to make sense of how they can communicate their needs to their parents and teachers, rather, I will introduce them slowly to English by saying phrases first in Italian and then English so they can perhaps have some context of what I am trying to say to them. Slowly after some time, we can transition to more English as the child begins to grow more confident and comfortable.
I am currently working part time following two children, needed now only 1-2 days a week so I am looking for something to fill another 1-2 days a week (as I am still studying, and even though everything is online [even without Covid] I need to keep at minimum one day a working week to devote to my studies).
Thank you for your time, please feel free to message me with any questions or concerns...I am not the best at trying to describe myself in a condensed form.
I also have my CV that includes all of my experience, certificates, and references of those whom I worked for previously.
Kindly,
Morgan

I have been taking care of and teaching others since the first baby came into my life at the age of 5 years old. However, since then, after graduating high school in 2013, I spent around 3 years working in facilities designed for the care of the elderly as I was pursuing a career in Nursing (so meaning as well that I have a hefty medical background). Then, with a need for exploration of the world and of the self, I went to Europe in 2016 and this is where I began to work with children more professionally. I have worked with over 12 children within the last 4 years, ranging in all ages from newborn to 11 years old. I am not only a nurturer by nature, I also have certifications in teaching English as a Second Language, and am completing my Bachelors in English (and Creative Writing, focus in fiction writing). I have experience working with children in private, intimate settings such as the family's home, to working with them in a nursery school setting (where Reggio Children approach was used, so I am also familiar in that). I feel personally I am not the "typical tata", I not only have much experience under my belt (some families I have worked for have been doctors and pediatricians so they have taught me many secrets) but I also have this...inherent capability to understand even the smallest child's individual strengths, interests, personalities, etc.. Therefore, I not only take the time to make sure that the child is taken care of physically, I also am constantly aware at how I can take care of the child's mentality (it is something very important to me). I feel I can understand your child and give them the tools they need to really grow into their own individual power, as childhood is, if not the most, important aspect of character building and the formation of the brain in accordance with functions of daily living (such as potty training or learning how to be independent - I don't want to brag, but I have been successful in potty training a 10 month old baby - with of course the wishes of the parents, whom I only do what they ask of me, I am a firm believer of not raising someone's children but rather, assist them in raising them when they are unable to be there).
