Giada, garde enfant : Zurigo

Hi,
my name is Giada, I am 22 years old, I am from Milan, Italy and I recently moved to Zurich.

I attended the language high school in Milan (where I learned English, Spanish and German) and in 2019 I graduated.

I have always had a passion for foreign languages and children. To combine the two, in 2020 I decided to become an Au- Pair.
I worked as an Au- Pair for two years for a German family in Zurich. I looked after two children aged between 5 and 12.

I had many responsibilities including cooking, keeping the children's area clean and organised, taking the children to different extracurricular activities, I also organised age appropriate reading, music and craft lessons.
Going outside and spending time in nature was part of the daily routine. This also helps to build a positive relationship with the children through shared experiences.
I think it is very important to spend time outside as often as possible; often the children and I would go to the forest and have picnics, go for bike rides and when they had school holidays we would also go to the lake.

However, my experience with children started a few years earlier, in January 2018.
I helped a teacher in a kindergarten. The children I was looking after were 5 years old.
The teacher and I met just before the lesson started to organise and plan the activities in English.
I also prepared the necessary materials for the activities (sheets, pens, colours, books, etc.) and cleaned up the room at the end of the lesson.
Involving all the children in physical, musical and craft activities was very important to me.

I am a very patient, creative and responsible person!
I am also full of energy, I enjoy sports and spending time in nature.

I love cooking and I always come up with new recipes!
