Please see below a short summary of all the relevant experience and qualifications that I have:

I have a GNVQ in Health and Social Care which covered units in child development, early years provision and phycology.
My interests working with children started when I got involved volunteering at a youth centre from the age of 12. This was helping with the junior club every Tuesday with Age 6-11 year olds. I also worked for a detach youth group and a Café for young people to help keep them off the streets. I then became a play leader at play scheme for the period of 2 years when I was the age of 17-19 years. I worked with all young ages doing this, which ranged from 6-12 years. From Aug 2003 until Dec 2005 I worked in two different nurseries. Throughout the 2 years I mainly cared for Toddlers as I was in charge of my own room but I did also spend a lot of time working in the Babies and Pre-school section. In January 2005 I took a year out to go travelling and on my return I decided not to go back in to childcare. In 2008 I moved to Cork in Ireland where I cared for a 2 year old and 6 year old from home. This was for a period of 8 months before I returned to Guernsey. The most recent childcare experience I have had is this summer looking after a 6 month old, 18 month old and a 3 years old girl and boy. I looked after them all from their own homes. Since I have been living in Belfast I have been covering emergency Nanny Care which involved looking after twin babies. Please note I have also done lots of babysitting for the last 17 years.

I feel that from all the experience I have gained over the years that I have a good understanding and patience of children’s needs and wants. I am also a loving and caring person who enjoys being active and around people. I’m fun, confident and easy to talk to.
