Rachel, garde d’enfant à Wallington

I am Rachel , 18 years of age and have recently finished school at St.Philomena's Catholic High School for Girls where I attained 10 GCSEs (4 A's, 5 B's, 1 C) 4 AS Levels (1 B, 2 C's, 1 D) and 3 completed A Levels (2 C's and 1 D). I live at home and have grown up with parents and brother, though my extended family is ever-growing with new cousins each year, enabling plenty of experience.

I am looking to care for children of all ages, babysitting, helping with homework, household chores and taking and collecting from school/ after school activities.

I believe I have the skills necessary for this job, I have good interpersonal skills, through my A-Level Spanish course I am able to provide a high level of communication not only in English but Spanish also. I have previously been part of a semi-professional football team (Wimbledon Town United Football club) and had been for seven years, I was a ball girl for Queens Aegon Championships, both demonstrating commitment, and dedication that show assets of being a team player. This has enhanced my awareness of the importance of health and fitness. In addition, for a short period of time I coached teenagers in football working with adults to provide a service for younger people showing that I am able to work and communicate with people of different ages. I am a Eucharistic minister. I have helped the priest by delivering the Host and caring for those who are ill. This role highlights my flexibility, as it is a demanding role. Becoming a Eucharistic minister has developed my integrity and my reliability, as I need to be punctual as well as attending all meetings, and working with the community. Patience is my most valuable skill I've developed whilst being a Eucharistic minister, as it enhanced my ability to stay calm, which is beneficial when being a minister. This role not only expanded my knowledge about my faith but also inspired me to take into consideration other peoples beliefs. Ultimately my personal attributes are what I consider to be well suited to this role. I have a positive attitude, I am enthusiastic when faced with challenging tasks being well equipped to work independently or in a team.

I've experienced baby sitting relatives from birth to double figure ages, activities I have completed indoor tasks such as, arts and crafts, painting (brushes, hands/feet, food cut out shapes), reading, singing songs, movies, puzzle sheets (colouring, dot to dot etc), hide and seek and much more. With a full clear driving licence outdoor activities are more plausible such as, parks, ball games, picnics, swimming. All activities encourage children to develop physically and mentally as they grow up with memories that last a lifetime.
