I am Dutch, 32 years old and I have worked as an au-pair for three boys in London from 2010 to 2012. One of the boys was on the autistic spectrum. I look back on this time with fond memories; I had a great connection with each of the boys because I truly enjoyed joining them in their games and getting involved with their interests. Even though I had no specific training for minding a child with autism, I turned out to be a good fit for the family. In this time I prepared basic meals (keeping in mind each of the boys' specific needs), did basic cleaning, did homework and physio exercises with them and thought of arts projects to do together.
After starting a professional career in Amsterdam and being together with my Spanish boyfriend for 5 years, we decided to take the big step and emigrate (back) to his home country. While I am waiting for the bureaucratic formalities to be arranged, I would love to go back to my old job of being a nanny. I am trying to learn as much Spanish as I can and it's going well; talking to teachers on the school pick-up (if necessary) will be no problem.
I am looking for a family that needs a Dutch or English-speaking nanny for a couple of days per week. It is important to note that I do not have a driver's licence.
