Damien, garde d’enfant à Bordeaux

My name is Damien, 32 years old from Galway, Ireland. I moved to Bordeaux six months ago with my French girlfriend; having lived in my native Ireland together beforehand. I am currently working for Speaking Agency where I take care of a 4 year old girl & a 7 year old boy twice a week, collecting them from school and minding them in the evening. I also have teaching contracts with the same company ranging from students to teaching adults business English. I also have experience working in schools in Asia where I taught English to children under 10. Growing up in Ireland I have 4 brothers and one sister, with an exhausting but rewarding 14 neices and nephews! Being the youngest of the family, it has always been my responsibility and pleasure to be the on-hand babysitter. I am happy to mind children in English or in French, but find the best is a mixture of both (for me and the children!). My level in French is pre-intermediate/ intermediate. If you are looking for your children to learn some English while they are being taken care of then I will be the ideal sitter. I would describe myself as calm and responsible, but I am quite active thus love to bring the children to the park and play games with them when the weather is good. I understand the importance and patience required to build a rapport with children, and find it an extremely rewarding job.
