I lived with my family in the Sydney, Australia, area between January and March 2016. I employed Amandine to take care of my children three days a week and on occasional nights and weekends. Amandine was extremely professional, punctual, and responsible from our very first interaction during the interview process. I was looking for a nanny in Sydney while we were still in the United States and was conducting interviews via Skype and Facetime. Amandine was very flexible to accommodate the time difference. She came across as experienced, personable, and very reliable, so I hired her immediately after the interview. My boys, three- and five-years-old at the time, were initially shy, but quickly took a liking to Amandine. She was able to make them feel comfortable and give them space when they needed it. After that, she readily engaged with them and they always looked forward to spending time with her. While I was usually away when Amandine was with the children, I had an opportunity to observe her with them on a number of occasions. I was very impressed by how loving she was. At the same time, she displayed an ability to set boundaries and maintain a level of discipline. My children are generally well-behaved and respectful, but are very energetic and Amandine was able to make sure that energy did not get out of control. She easily channeled it into games, walks, trips to the park and the beach, and other activities the boys enjoy. Her calm nature and positive attitude averted more than one temper tantrum. Once the local attractions and playgrounds had been exhausted, Amandine proactively researched other playgrounds in the Sydney area and took the bus with the children to explore them. During the three months I interacted with Amandine, she was always punctual, flexible, reliable, and displayed a very positive attitude. In addition to taking care of the kids, she always ensured the apartment is cleaned and dishes are washed and put away. She also did an outstanding job preparing meals for the kids and the family. My family had a very hard time saying good-bye to Amandine when we left Sydney. If we needed a full-time nanny or an au-pair in the US, I would have hired her immediately. She had an opportunity to visit us in the United States in the fall of 2016 and we can honestly say Amandine has become a part of our family. I highly recommend Amandine to any family looking for a responsible and loving caregiver.
