My name is Jo and I arrive in France next week! I have been a Senior/Deputy Manager of children's nurseries for nearly the last 3 years. I have a wealth of qualifications and experience in this area. Prior to my departure I was offered a Supervisory role in the 0-2 baby room (as Senior Manager). I have an interest in children with special educational needs and am about to start my Level 6 (through the Institute of Child Education and Psychology Europe). I am also in talks with another lady regarding setting up a Forest School but this is in its very early stages! I have read a lot about holistic childcare and am aware of developmental milestones and how to assess these well and how to assist children and build on their strengths. I have numerous courses in speech and language as well as other areas of child development. Over the past year I have also gained my Level 5 certificate in the Theory and Methodology of Teaching English to Students of Other Languages. I am patient and am very sensitive to children and what makes them work well - just through very subtle gestures and presence alone can make all the difference. I enjoy making children happy and feel that I can offer a very wholesome experience to the children in my care. I am reading various details on Forest School and outdoor provision and feel that this can contribute to a child's development greatly (as well as a balanced diet). I have two small children and we have great fun every weekend going for long walks and playing in the garden. References are available on request.
