Marie, garde d’enfant à Stadt Brüssel

Hello ! My name is Marie, I am 21 years old and originally from Düsseldorf, Germany.
My interest in working with children started when I was about 13 years old and met the two little girls of a neighbor. I fell in love with the joy and wonder that surrounded them and knew from then on that I wanted to work with children.
Aside from babysitting the two girls regularly for the past 8 years, I worked for several other families in my neighbourhood with kids primarily aged between 3 and 8. Furthermore, I worked twice as a fulltime holiday nanny in London, once looking after an 8 year old and once working for a family with three kids aged 10 months, 3 years and 13 years.
Additionally I gained experience through working in a preschool gymnastics group for 2 years and doing two internships in a kindergarden.
What you can expect:
My main incentive as a babysitter and nanny is to facilitate the child’s learning in an environment that is fun, engaging, loving and safe.
The following are activities that I personally enjoy and that generally have been well received by the children I cared for:
Taking the kids outside to discover and learn about nature, to do sports or just play.
Indoor activities: building forts, colouring, doing crafts, reading together, baking together.
But every child learns differently and that ultimately determines the activities we do together.
A bit more about me:
I recently moved to Brussels to study French at a language school as I intend to start studying at the ULB next autumn. My mother tongue is German, but I lived in England for a while and speak English at native level fluency as well. My French is at an A2, so it is very basic.
In my free time I love to do sports like dancing Salsa, weightlifting and hiking. I also enjoy photography and making jewelry.
I am looking for a part time nannying position with a family who either speaks English or German at home or wants their kids to learn these languages. Alternatively I would be happy to work for a French family with very little children that don’t require an advanced level of French from me.
