I am an SVQ 3 qualified practitioner with years of professional experience working with children aged 0-16. In Glasgow I have been a playworker where I responded to children's play ques and supported them to develop their play opportunities, I was promoted to childcare manager responsible for 20 staff and over 100 children each day. I relocated to Aberdeen and worked as a nursery practitioner and gained experience with infants. I have a BA(HONS) Degree in fine art painting and printmaking from Glasgow School of Art and I maintain my practice.
I am calm and consistent which are qualities important when working with children. I am also always respectful and trustworthy, I take the time to listen and appreciate children and young people's feeling and views. If your child/ren are interested I can use my creative background to provide activities and help them develop these interests, I love to be outside and regardless of the weather I am happy to provide play and learning opportunities outdoors.
I also have experience working with children with additional and/or behavioural needs and I am always looking at new theories and methods to aid children in overcoming any barriers they may be facing. I believe that it is important for children to feel respected and responsible.
