I have just returned from 3 years of working and travelling in Australia and New Zealand. I have always enjoyed working with children, even since I was a child myself I liked to help out with younger kids. I feel I have the skills and qualifications needed to provide a safe and positive learning environment for children. I have worked in a variety of settings caring for children aged from newborn to 6 years.

While in Australia:

While living with my cousin and his partner I helped to take care of their new born baby, I occasionally took care of the baby on my own, other jobs I did included preparing bottles, feeds, changing and settling the baby for nap time.

I worked as an Au-Pair for a family with 3 children aged 1-6. I lived in with the family and took care of the children. I helped get the kids ready in the mornings. I did school drop offs and pick-ups. With the younger children I would take them to the park, play indoor games with them and sometimes take them on days out. I also helped out with some cleaning and cooking. I worked with the family for 4 months.

I worked for Randstad Education as a casual educator. I was placed in a variety of childcare centres and kindergartens to relieve permanent staff. The children I worked with were age 0-5. My duties included supervising and caring for the children, planning activities and assisting permanent staff with their daily routine.

While in New Zealand:

I also worked for Randstad Education in New Zealand. I worked in a variety of childcare centres relieving permanent staff. My duties included providing a safe and caring environment to play, learn and develop. I would set up fun and educational activities age appropriate for the children I was caring for. I would also follow the permanent staffs guidelines for the running of the centre although once I had been to a centre a few times I would get to know the daily routine and be able to work on my own initiative.
