Joanna, nourrice - PR3 Longridge

My name is Joanna. My childcare philosophy is based upon a deep understanding of child development, informed by many years of experience and knowledge of the Montessori Method. This has been honed by experiencing the different stages of childhood from birth to adulthood with my own children, working with school pupils and private families. Subsequently complimented with my understanding of Montessori pedagogy.
I delight in encouraging children to be creative, competent, and capable individuals. This is based on a firm foundation of respect for others, themselves, and their environment.
I believe in supporting children through collaborative learning in a prepared environment, where they have freedom within limits. I promote a balanced approach to learning where grace and courtesy, academic learning and learning through play are of equal importance.
I have relished being a mother to my own children at every age and stage. I thoroughly enjoy caring for children across the age ranges. I believe in firm but fair boundaries, routine, plenty of good healthy food, fresh air, and fun to support child-led play and learning in an enabling environment. I am interested in a long term, short term, emergency or rota Nanny position.
