Asifa, garde d’enfant ponctuelle - B10 Birmingham

Hello, my names Asifa. I am currently living at home with my parents and siblings, my hobbies include shopping, reading books, spending time with my family and friends and taking my niece and nephew on days out.

My initial career goal was to become a primary school teacher, however due to circumstances I chose not to go to university and further my career. For my first year of college I studied a child care level 3 diploma, however I changed my course to health and social care level 3 instead. Due to the courses I studied I spent a lot of time working in nurseries and residential homes as it was compulsory for my course. I found that I genuinely enjoyed working with children.

It wasn't until many family members and friends encouraged me to go in to the babysitting career, that I had considered it. I was told that I was a natural and really good with children. It was only then that I realised that maybe I could turn my babysitting hobby in to a career for myself. On the weekends I would normally babysit for my family and occasionally the neighbours.

I know that with caring for children comes a great responsibility, it also comes with creating a bond with them and having their best interests at heart.

I have a very friendly personality which I feel helps me a lot when interacting with children. I also have the patience it takes to look after a child, children are at the age where they are still learning. They pick up on things very easily, therefore I feel that it is crucial to have a certain level of understanding and patience it takes to provide children with the best possible care I can.
