Samantha, garde d’enfant ponctuelle - WR99 Worcester

Hello, my name is Samantha (Sam) I'm currently on maternity leave after having my first baby (wow what a life changer, the best experience in the world) but I'm due to go back to work in January so I'm looking for a part time nannying job.

I absolutely love working with children, I just think it is the most rewarding job where you can watch how you can help develop a child or children as they grow.
I also love how everyday is different and that there are so many experiences that you can share, whether its sensory play, stories and singing or even exploring the outdoors.
I believe I am extremely kind and caring and as a person i am calm which is a much needed characteristic when it comes to working with children.
I also know I am enthusiastic but that comes second nature I believe when you love your job.

I currently work in a nursery and have mainly worked in the baby room (0-2 years) but also have experience with ages up to 5.
Some of my favourite experiences that I have planned and that the children have loved are;
I had one key child who was particularly fond of a rabbit teddy and during any role play would pretend to feed the rabbit bake beans. So from this we had bake bean play with pots and pans, spoons and bowls and a selection of dolls and 'rabbit'. The children were able to explore a new texture but also develop their skills in role play by mixing and feeding the dolls.
Another of my key children used to love wearing wellies they would always find the wellies in the dressing up box as soon as they got to nursery and nearly wear them all day! It was at a time of year when there were no puddles so we made are own puddles! I got 2 big trays and filled it with soil and then added lots of water it was a great success the children loved squelching and splashing in the muddy puddles.
I'm a great believer in following a child's interest and that an activity can be adapted for any child.
I also believe that a child should have the opportunity to explore as many different experiences as possible as from these experiences is how they develop and grow into the person they are going to become later on in life.
