Rod, baby sitter à Exeter

I only found top-childcare today because Indeed listed a 'driving' job involving fetching children from school. I hadn't thought of childcare!

I am the Father of two boys, Ben and Dan. They were born in South Africa but my wife Jan and I brought them over here aged 9 and 12 in 1999. Ben enjoyed cadets and is now an officer in the Australian army, married to a Sydney girl, while Dan and his partner Katie who both studied History, are currently travelling around Europe in a van when they're not helping refugees.

I was a librarian in South Africa but in Devon spent nearly 8 years caring for young and older people with autism or learning disabilities. Since then I've been delivering hire cars.

Of course I'm the concerned, caring, conscientious type and I've been told I'm calm in an emergency; when I saw the ad today I immediately thought I'd love to have been able to help out, so this posting is my hurried response to your particular ad - in case your hiring doesn't work out ...
My spare time is spent out walking our lovely dog Whisky - preferably on the moor - swimming, reading or relating to people at our local community centre or via church. This little job would be a new departure, perhaps towards being a grandfather even, though I did have the privilege of walking my nephew's 9 year-old daughter to school recently, when we looked after her and her brother for a long weekend.
So, perhaps not quite what you were expecting! On the other hand, in the apparent absence of a grandparent, you've got a slightly bookish, ex body-boarder from Durban who loves Roald Dahl, George MacDonald, Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, so might at least be on the same page. It would be great to meet you anyway.
