Hi there. I am Stacey and a single mum who has recently lost her job due to the council cutting contracts. Im willing to try any type of childcare work and have over 10 years experience. I do not drive yet. Here is what I would put on an application if asked about myself/experience. I have always had a keen interest in childcare from high school years. So whilst at school I applied for college and accepted a place at James watt college. After successfully qualifying as a nursery officer I gained my first job in Leaps and bounds nursery. I worked at leaps and bounds for 2 years, throughout my 2 years I got the chance to experience all age groups but spent a long time within the 2-3 room. I then moved onto Carriagehill nursery where I have spent the last 7 years. I have also experienced all age groups in Carriagehill but spent my last few years in the 3-5 room. Whilst in the 3-5 room I work with the girls as part of a team to provide the planning and experiences for the children using the curriculum for excellence and assessment for learning making sure we are getting it right for each individual child. We use floor books to monitor what the children have learned aswell as tracking them individually every week. I am also responsible for my own key group of ante preschool children. With this I am responsible for profiles, individual learning plans , tracking and if required stepped interventions. I have also had to liaise with outside agencies at a professional level.I also liaise with parents to ensure they are happy content and understand their child's learning. I believe I make learning fun and happy for the children by researching new and old activities to keep them interested. I like to be organised and prepared for the day ahead and believe time management is the key to being successful in getting as much in depth learning from the children aswell as using the childrens direction. I am a happy go lucky girl and feel I am able to make solid relationships with other staff parents and children which in turn gains there trust. I believe I am a great assets to any team with good time keeping and always willing to be flexible where needed.
The last 18 months I have been working in Glendee pre 5 on a job sharing basis and covered a bit of full time work. I have been welcomed into a well eastablished team and feel I am able to carry out my job at a high standard. I have been able to communicate well with my job sharing partner and make sure our planning, tracking and core workshop is efficent and consistant for our group children aswell as the children within our room. We have also been working together to do transition reports for pre school children and end of term reports for the ante pre school children using the shanarri indicators.I have also learnt how to do e-profiles and becoming more familiar with the four capacity termonology. I have taken part in inservices days to help develop myself as a practioner as I see this as being benefical.I have also did some one to one with a child with Additional support needs where I worked alongside outside agencies and very closely with the parents and staff to make sure we were getting it right for this child. I also kept a daily diary to help support staff at est meetings. This has all helped my confidence to continue to grow within a nursery setting. Anything else feel free to ask :)
