Elena was our Au Pair for one year in the United States through the Cultural Care Au Pair Program. Elena was more than the person who took care of our twins, she was family. If she was able to, we would have her back with us in a heartbeat. It is very easy for me to write a wonderful recommendation for Elena, because she is an exceptional person. She loved our twins like they were her own. Some background on her time with us. Our children, boy and girl twins, had just turned one years old and were just starting to walk when she started to work for us in the United States. She lived with us for the year, and as an au pair, spent a lot of time with our family. She got a long with everyone, and even made some close friends in the United States. She is personable, responsible, takes initiative, and is goal oriented. She is also extremely organized and clean. One additional skill that was helpful is that she loves to cook, or learn and try new recipes. Elena's responsibilities were taking care of our children while we were at work, or had prior engagements. She would get the kids dressed and ready in the morning, changed their diapers, she took them to their activities, to playdates, to the park, prepared meals for the kids, a bathed our children, got them ready for nap time and bedtime, and even helped take care of our children when they became ill (cold or flu), she also took the initiative and prepared/created art projects for the kids. While our children napped she would do light house work, mainly cleaning the kids toys, doing laundry, light house cleaning, and helping out with our dog. She is also wonderful with animals. My children adored Elena, and the other children they played with like her too. People would often stop me to tell me how wonderful she was with my children, completely unprompted. Elena is a people pleaser, she enjoys making other people happy. She does not like confrontation, and avoids getting into arguments and disagreements with people. Elena is absolutely wonderful, and I highly recommend her in any type of childcare situation. I know that she often told to me that she would like to work as a preschool teacher (with younger children ages 0-4). I think that is an ideal role for her as she is smart, able to multitask, and works exceptionally well with young children.
