Hi I'm Lauren, I'm 20 and a Plymouth University student. I'm going into my 2nd year in September and I'm looking for a babysitting/part time care role that suits both my study hours and the family involved. I have always really enjoyed spending time with children and developing new and exciting activities for them to enjoy.
I believe that I would be the perfect person to look after children as I am friendly, approachable, patient individual. Qualities such as these I believe are essential when working with children. Children love to have fun and it's important that their babysitter is able to have fun with them. However, I believe it is just as important that the children respect the babysitter. Therefore, I have learnt that you must ensure there is a balance between having fun with the children and being too silly.
Before beginning Uni I spent the year living abroad with a French family and working as their au pair. This was a wonderful experience as it enabled me to develop my French language skills and gain experience of looking after children of different age ranges, including both English and Non-English speaking children. I really enjoyed working as an au pair as it allowed me to develop a bond with the children, and it always made me smile when they were happy and excited to spend time with me. I had a lot of free time so it allowed me to create various activities that the children loved, such as a more arts and craft based activities such as DIY treasure hunt or building rafts to sail in the sea. On the other hand, they would enjoy going on walks to the beach and exploring the area, playing football and playing in the garden.
My role as an au pair has enabled me to gain a lot of experience that is associated with child care. This involved getting the children ready for school in the mornings, picking them up from school, sorting their snack, cooking lunch/tea, bathing, getting them ready for bed, caring for them when they were sick and unable to attend school, helping with their homework, taking them to their activities etc. I have some gained experience with French children and therefore I am able to help the children develop their French is desired.
Although I have not yet had the opportunity to gain any professional qualifications that involve caring for children, I have gained a lot of hands on experience which to some families may be more appealing when looking for a babysitter/part time carer.
Please feel free to ask me any questions you have and I hope to hear from you very soon.
Thanks,
Lauren.
Babysitting ponctuel | $6,00 de l’heure |
I've placed both at £6 per hour but this is something that we are able to discuss and I don't have any professional qualifications and therefore I would not expect families to be able to pay a high wage for babysitting.
