Sam, baby-sitter - RG31 Tilehurst

Hi!

I'm Sam, 30 years old, English. I am available for babysitting, and part-time care services.

- I have Bachelors and Masters degrees in psychology from the University of Plymouth where I learnt about child development and specialised in clinical psychology/mental health.

- I have good experience in working and caring for children, having spent time volunteering in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers which covers ages 6 - 17.

- Most recently I have five years experience working as a support worker and then Team Leader at a residential home for adults with learning disabilities, and in a children's home.

- I am confident and skilled in managing challenging behaviour, having had training in Positive Behaviour Support, and the PACE therapeutic parenting model.

- I previously held the Blue Card in Managing Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA) from the Crisis Prevention Institute. This only recently expired in February 2021. I am also trained in TeamTeach which is another positive behaviour management strategy.

- My day job now is at a local council so babysitting is for a bit of extra income, but as you can see I am well experienced. I have a caring and calm personality. I am good at keeping children of all ages safe and occupied with fun activities and can cook, clean, help with homework and set boundaries.
