Hello, My name is Amy I'm 18 and a Student pediatric nurse at University of York.

I'm looking for some part-time childcare or babysitting work. I love working with children, helping them learn, discover new things and have fun. I have previously volunteered at a day centre for children with disabilities.I would spend time with the children, playing games, doing craft activities, and going on day trips with them to places such as bowling and leisure centres. I enjoyed my time here as meeting all the children, getting to know them as individuals and having fun with them, was truly rewarding. I have been interested in working with children from a young age when I would go to work with my mother at a nursey. Here I would interact with children between 6 months and 5 years. One of my favourite things about doing this was planning new activities for the children to enjoy. I feel I would make a good child career as I am caring and compassionate, I will listen to both the parent and child's needs and I have a genuine interest in working with children and helping them reach their full potential. Two of my favourite activities to do with children are reading stories and playing outside. Firstly, I think reading stories can have a wonderful impact on a child's literacy skills, communication skills, cognitive abilities and most importantly, it's a lot of fun. I also believe outdoor play, such as going to parks and playgrounds, is a great way for children to burn energy and explore nature and the world around them.

As part of my degree, I have learnt Paediatric and Adult First Aid. I am competent in cooking and other domestic duties such as laundry and cleaning, due to my experience working as a home health care assistant. I have a full clean UK driving licences and my own car, so would be happy to assist with school runs or taking children on days out. I am a strong swimmer and would be able to take a small number of children swimming.
