Izzy, garde enfant - S10 Fulwood

Hi, my name is Izzy and I'm 21 years old and currently studying at The University of Sheffield doing Biomedical Science. I have had experience with children aged between 3-18 in a variety of roles including mentoring, tutoring and caring. Through these experiences I feel I have learnt much valuable knowledge on children in a range of ages.

Some of my previous work experience includes working at a residential farm for children with mental and physical disabilities called CAFT. Working at CAFT involved various types of communication and ensuring the children were always enjoying themselves. Typical duties in this role included activities such as art, sports, and outside play as well a household jobs including tidying, cleaning, and general maintenance. I have had other experience with people and disabilities including being a leader of a volunteering organisation taking young adults with disabilities to a night club and volunteering at a sixth form college.

Other roles I have undertaken include being a hockey coach to secondary school children as well as a cello mentor for 4 years. Being a Grade 8 cellist, I have the capabilities of helping children with musical theory and practise of instruments. I am also keen to help children with homework and other activities if necessary.
I have undertaken many volunteering opportunities and work which involved working with children thus I feel confident working with children over the age of 3. I am available for before and after-school care and can babysit Thursday-Monday evenings.
I have always enjoyed the company of children and being so enthusiastic as a person I manage to form a quick bond with them. I am passionate in everything that I do and hope to work practically in all my roles.

Some of my hobbies include playing sports like hockey and athletics as well as music (both playing and listening!). I am currently at University so will occasionally have lectures which will take priority but these are not often.
