I have been interested in childcare since leaving high school and I have made this the focus of my education and working life since. I have a wealth of practical experience in caring for different aged children, from birth to fifteen, gained at college, university (Norland College) and a number of job opportunities. I am proud of the fact that I have gained excellent references from a variety of employers. When looking after children I always ensure that fun and safety is a focus and measure my success by how much the children enjoy our time together. I pride myself on being able to form close relationships with children, and their families, quickly, ensuring that both children’s and family’s needs are always met. It is important to balance a fun approach with appropriate rules and boundaries that mirror the expectations of the family. I always maintain a positive persona – my constant smiling is often remarked upon by the adults I meet. I feel this is important in creating lasting impressions with the children and helps to give them confidence, security and happiness.
